ALR-M2 lunar mission

How will the DLLed versions handle payloads?

For the moment and for the first release it will handle payloads using a dedicated ini file, similar to MS2/SC3.

Once everything is tuned up we will think about payload managers etc.

I have to say that from an end user point of view I actually hate the payload managers in the simulation :rofl:

It is still the best option IMHO until you have implemented a vehicle assembly building with the spawning of payloads and launchers. :lol:
 
Why? I think it's a great thing to be able to do this in simulation :thumbup:

I don't know, personally i don't like it that much. Maybe because from a "realism" point of view it is not realistic to decide the payload of a rocket when the rocket is already on the launch pad :rofl:

The news about this flight plan is an Antares 150 m/s powered burn in order to decrease lunar orbit apoaxis and simulate a deorbit burn.
Trans Earth Injection will be performet at the limit of the reentry window to simulate a bad condition and the need to perform a "fast" coming back

That's 25 years and 9 minutes after STS-26. Certainly a nice launch day tomorrow with two other real ones.

Antares, still attached to the third stage HES-5, is on the way to the Moon.
Due to the bad illumination conditions during the LEO parking orbit and the TLI maneuvre, this is the only good screenshot of the spacecraft that i could capture during the live broadcast.

 
Antares LR is perfectly on track. Yesterday an important correction burn was performed to reach the righ lunar orbit inclination for this mission. Today a minor burn is scheduled.

Lunar Orbit inserction is scheduled for tomorrow october 3rd at 21:20 UTC

Fantastic view!

Further tracking of the abandoned HES-5 upper stage would be interesting. The decay time of its orbit (due to the Sun / Earth gravity interference) could be an useful information.
