Request Any SLS and Orion MPCV in development?

Hello John,I just tried to test out your addon and I am getting a CTD,here are the errors in the orbiter log.

Thanks. I think they maybe in the meshes/velcro

That module is the habitat. Orion can't sustain a crew on any Mars mission by itself.

I didn't know that, I speak some japanese but I can't think of a profanity this sounds like, apart from maybe busu, which means ugly woman and is quite insulting to say.

And Gatt, the EUS is the same thing, they did just rename it. Like the Delta upper stage is being called the interim upper stage. And I like that orion/altair configuration. No abort tower though. Oh well, MOON OR DIE TRYING!

It looked to me like a variant of the 500 day habitation module.

The Orion itself can sustain a crew of 4 for 20 days, it will absolutely require these modules for any mission longer than lunar.

Well we have Orion and Altair lander. So I guess we need a habitat module. I am making that EUS vessel. Going to redo the tower animations. But I haven't gotten the 2nd stage version to fly correctly yet.

I'm wondering though, given the size and space constraints maybe the single engine delta stage would work and give enough room to put the stack under the abort tower.

I'm also wondering if the EUS is strong enough to push something like the Skylab 2 to Mars. You could get more than 500 days out of that.

On the space a new larger cargo area could be made.

On the Habitat module. One could make a Cylinder with 2 docks. I would n't do an interior.

Wouldn't be hard just need to know the size. Then you could attach the Orion solar panels to it.

Here are a couple articles I've found so far, problem is none of them give any real specs.

http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2012/03/dsh-module-concepts-outlined-beo-exploration/

http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2013/04/captured-asteroid-mission-redefining-em-2-challenge/

It looks to me as if part of the hab module, the propulsion and one of the modules, will be launched on a cargo and the Orion launch would bring up the second module and the access tunnel for the two and assemble it all on orbit. That is....if I'm reading this article right, it didn't seem clear but it does appear to me that the vehicle is in two major sections. It also said a 60 day hab has a 21 day contingency reserve and the 500 day would have a 60 day contingency. The proposed 2021 flyby could be done in a 500 day hab with a little extra to spare. No stopping at Mars though.

Sounds good. I saw the flexcraft in one sketch. From the Orion One could calculate the size. Didn't see a difference between the 60 and 500.

There isn't any other than the duration, they appear about the same size. I know the 500 day is supposed to have a more advanced environmental control than the ones currently on ISS. It seems to me that's the only real difference between the two.

Is there one on the ISS for Orbiter. Where one could just add it into the cargo area.

There seems to be 3 vessels. Hab, Tunnel, MPLM. It looks like on the tunnel are some solar arrays?

I think the hab section attached to the stage is one part, the hab with the tunnel is another that looks like it goes up with the Orion. The one diagram kind of shows this idea, but it's really small to read the captions.

Are you talking about the stock orbiter ISS or the thorton download? I know Atlantis has a module in its cargo area you're supposed to add to the station, I didn't know if you could remove any of the attached modules.

I would be easier than to make a whole module. If they are vessels they should be able to be added.

Well, there's definitely one in Atlantis.

Let's steal it!

Well I need to get the 2nd stage part to get her up.

Not sure how many payloads Velcro allow.

I think I found the problem with the upper stage, and it's so obvious that I'm disappointed I did not see it last night:facepalm:.

Anyway, speaking of things to borrow for habits, either Piper's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3619"]MPLM's[/ame] or the [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2857"]Space Station modules[/ame](also by Piper) would work for a hab like shown on the illustrations, and you can spoil yourself for choice since the station pack has quite a few to choose from. Hlynkacg's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5247"]Transhab[/ame] is a option beside the ISS-like modules, and while Transhab isn't a NASA project anymore, it is a plausible enough alternative.

Sorry, this is a little late, but I tried something like this. I used Pappys Hangar's Neeseys module, CTV-Lunar (representing the Orion SM derived), and wishbone's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5215"]NTR[/ame]. I used Universal Cargo Deck to hold them together. Two problems. Neeseys is to small to actually support Orion for the trip to and from Mars, and the NTR can't even get the CTV-Lunar and Neeseys (remind you, SMALLER that a real habbitat and Orion) out of earth orbit! If there was a way to get it there, that would be cool, but I have tried to simulate it, and I have been at a loss. Anybody have any ideas?

This is what my EUS looks like:

I get a CTD when it separates. nothing in the log though.

Getting closer to a stage 2 launch. Not sure when things are to happen?
After launch when should the interstage seperate and the 2nd stage separate? Should the fairing on the upper stage still be there or dettached when the 2nd stage separates?

On the EUS. From the specs not sure what they should be for Orbiter.

I think the interstage stays attached to the core stage, there aren't any solid rockets on it that are shown in the Constellation video, so it doesn't separate along with the EUS.

Fairing separation, I think, is really up to you, though I think that the deciding factor should be when the stack clears the (lower) atmosphere.

Ok. I have the interstage seperate and then the upper fairing a little later.

But when the 2nd stage separates it disappears. I can switch to the lander and see the mesh and the 2nd stage has no fuel/thrust.
