Hello everyone, i am new to these forums, but i have been into orbiter for a few weeks now and i am loving it. After a while i wanted to try new things, so i looked at fictional aircraft and enjoyed them, which leads me to have a request for one.
There is a Science Fiction Transport/cargo aircraft that shares some similar physics to the orbiter, it has VTOL, it is a Troop Transport/ Cargo tranporter and is limited to planetary orbits only (Along with reentry and atmospheric flying.)
It's called the Arvus lighter, and was created from a Company called Forgeworld (www.forgeworld.co.uk) who specializes in making resin polymer model kits as well as brass etching for a tabletop wargame that i play. It so happens i ordered the Arvus lighter from the Online store/Warhammer40k/Imperial Navy section.
It is said to work with simplicity, having automated systems that keep it stable and away from catastrophe allowing the pilot to focus on rapid transport/cargo. Within the atmosphere, it goes a max of 780 Kts and has VTOL capabilities. It doesn't use Landing gear, but pads that deploy because it takes off and lands vertically, no matter what.
Here are some pictures shoing the model, note i didn't paint this, this was done by the company's artists.
The Cockpit, showing the Interior details including some of the Controls and throttle.
A Image of it with the Canopy closed.
Another Exterior image.
Exterior side shot, those three rectangular boxes you see are personal package containers. (Yes they are heat shielded)
A rear shot of the Arvus lighter. This was the only picture of the rear and it is from a unpainted one.
That is all for photos, there is a few more pictures on the website. I am not sure if the wings fold or if they were designed that way, but i do know that this ship would fly similar to the orbiter, except it can only take off and land vertically. This is the request, no obligations nor pressure, but if you feel like doing it i would be much appreciative!
Thanks!
