'Well, in my first attempt to dock with a space station, my instructor told me to do a dry-dock with the Luna-OB1 station. I powered up my DG-XR1, lifted off, and got myself into a suitable orbit. I faced anti-normal, did a plane-alignment burn, and got an acceptable RInc. I started to wait, but my velocity was the same as the station's and i was halfway across the moon from Luna, which ment i was never gonna' get any closer. So i was like "Darn it!". I could have landed, but my O2 supplies were low, and i had no idea how. To get home, i would have had to dock with the station and get my instructor to do it. So, basically i waited for my doom'

That was my story.

Anyone know how to get a higher/lower velocity in the same orbit?

See the chapter Dancing in the dark of "Go Play in space" guide to answer your question.

In any circular orbit around some planet, you have a determined velocity for a determined height. If you want to go faster, get yourself in a lower orbit, if you want to slow get in a higher one. Once youre nearer then you can rendesvouz
