Forgive me if a solution to this problem has been posted but I've been unable to find one via search.

I have found that if I change between exterior and interior views using F1 that the orbit of whatever I'm flying (and indeed other craft in the simulation) changes. For example, flying say a DGIV, multiple presses of F1 will result in a nice orbital peA going from about 200km alt to well below ground level.

I did find a thread stating the the problem is due to the way orbiter redraws the frame when changing view.

So am I right in thinking that on a more powerful computer (current PC CPU is AMD 2500+) this problem would be reduced as it would redraw the scene quicker?

And as I can't afford a new computer just yet is there anyway I can "lock" an objects orbit as I am trying to build a space station and I keep having to fix the station's orbit in the scenario editor.

I had the same problem.
Is it right that also your atmosphere is getting black when you change the view?
You need some dlls:
msvcr71
msvcp71

Fantastic, that's seems to have fixed it entirely :D

Now to get on with building myself a space station, must working on getting into orbit and synching/docking a bit more efficiently, at least now I don't have to worry about the goalposts moving on me.
