OHM CMG v2.0

Excellent addon!!!

It's been on my wish-list for some time.

I have one request if there will be an update:
A CFD (similar to Remote Vessel Control) so you can control the station without switching focus.

You can switch modes with [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4778"]Remote Control with Send Key function[/ame], but you can't set the angles.

Edit: Turns out you can set the angles using the Remote Control CFD. :)

I'll try to write simple MFD. Then CMG could be accessed from every place :)

I've made a simple replacement mesh that I'm going to upload to Orbithangar, so people can use CMG without a 40+ mb download.

I've also included a sample config file to show how you can use it with (almost) any station module.

Poscik, looks like you've done what I was hoping for. Excellent!

Hey C3PO, that sounds good, as I get a bit lost on how to integrate CMG v2.0 into the scenarios, for example like the one attached to this post.

Fizyk is also involved ;) To integreate, you have to first dock Z1CMG to station, then CMG to Z1CMG. Both vessels can be created by Scenario Editor.

I just dock the CMG to my Z1 and it works fine.

Can you get the status (active mode and angle readouts) into an MFD? That's the only thing missing when using Remote Control.

The reason I made this was to point out that you don't need the Z1 module. Some people might want to make a station using some other module.
If you want to use a Z1, it works as advertised. And looking very good to boot.

Can you clarify how you got it to work without the Z1 on ISS 3.2? I just had to dock the Z1 to one of the Soyuz ports, and then docked the CMG to that. Looks a bit odd, but it works great. If there is a way to not have the second Z1 there, I am all ears.

I'm not using ISS v3.2

It figures we get this awesome addon, after the shuttle stops flyiing.

ISS Fleet to use this add-on

The ISS fleet (V4.8) is in the final stages of testing and documentation. I have found this add-on to be excellent for holding attitude for the ISS fleet and flying historical missions to docking. I have been updating the fleet to provide a docking port for this add-on (a "must have") and will be releasing soon. I just need to finish the necessary documentation.

Thanks!

Dave

It works great. Could you add the possibility to set a constant rate of rotation while keeping attitude on the 2 other axis ? That'll help build rotating stations without relying on animated modules.
Thanks.
edit: also, it has weird angles by default, if corrected it could be docked on a truss without adding an interior dock to the chosen module.

You mean, it is rotated weird by default? If yes, it is absolutely correct. It has been rotated by 45° by default to fit "holes" in Z1 truss. And about constant rate of rotation, I can see what I can do, but can't promise anything in short time. Now I don't have any time to code.

BrianJ made me a rotation point.dll that might do what you need. PM me.

Poscik,

Could CMG2 be given an attachment point so it can be launched, then be released to be docked , when in orbit ?

I think It provides such feature. It can be carried out on ESP. If not, you can add attachments in cfg file in Config/Vessels. I also will take a look on it when I have a time.

Can you attach the CMG to a station instead of docking it,or does it have to be docked for it to work correctly? That way it stays hidden, and won't take up the extra dock.

As far as I remember, when attached, it wasn't working. But it was hmmm... year ago? Just attach and check ;)

Or create an extra docking port inside the mesh. My Skylab-II station:
