That's the question.

So far I have not been able to get it to work.

The scenarios list, but when activated, elements of the scenario are missing. So Space station. No Orion. Etc.

Is there a way to get it to work?

Thanks,

jbsheridan

It should be working. It's created for Orbiter 2010-P1. Did you install all the required by it add-ons? Are you running Orbiter 2010 (100606) or Orbiter 2010-P1 (100830)?

2001: A Space Odyssey v2.0 Dec 19th 2010.  By: Chris Moon.

Meshes and Textures based on the original work of the following authors & artists:
Erik Anderson aka Sputnik, Alain Hosking aka 80MilesHigh, Wolfgang Schwarz (Nautilus), Computerrex, Dave Bartles, Mauro Biolo, Michael Evans, Max Grueter, Abraham Katase, kultch, Chris Moon, Michael Powell, Sputnik, Dan Steph, tblaxland, B.J. West, & Vinka.

This has been Tested on a laptop with 1G RAM and 1.73 and GHz Processor running Windows XP. Also Tested on higher performance computers running Vista.

Testing Configurations: WARNING: Orbspotlight module add-on from Computerrex is NOT compatable with Orbiter 2010 local light sources, so turn off one or the other.

Successfully Tested against:
High Resolution textures: EarthL11/14, MarsL11, MoonL11, JupiterL8, IoL8, EuropaL8

Orulex Core and collisions from Artlav, (great for the trip to tycho)

Tested with all Orbiter 2010 functions and pre-installed modules (EXCEPT LOCAL LIGHT SOURCES)

Installation:

REQUIRED for full use of all scenarios

1. Install ONLY Orbspotlight from computerrex's Add-on pack.
2. Install Attitude MFD V3.2
3. Install Universal Cargo Deck Version 4
4. Install UCGO Version 2 by Danstef.

Recommended for added enjoyment:

5. Install Orbiter Sound 3.5 by DanStef
6. Install Orulex Core & Collision with Lunar heightmaps

PLEASE READ THE USER MANUAL INCLUDED FOR FULL OPERATIONAL DIRECTIONS

Still having problems

Thanks for getting me on the right path.

I installed everything new and then installed the latest version of 2001. All other my other addons and scenarios seem to be working just fine, but when I open a scenario in 2001, I only get a cockpit and the external view where there should be the vessel or the space station, but they are not there.

I am thinking that some folders did not install on the right paths, but I am not sure which ones to manually place and where they should go.

1. Any ideas?

2. Also, I do not get the Blue Danube music.

It's based on Spacecraft3 so I'm wondering if it needs the updated stage.dll file?

An improvement and a question

I installed vinkas spacecraft 3 and now I have vessels and space station. I'll be checking it all out further as the day goes on.

Vinkas version 2 did not do it.

Is there a way to get the Blue Danube Waltz to play?

Thank you very much

Ooops. Still no orion with space station

My mistake. I got the Space station and thought I had the Orion, but did not.

So. I went back to zero. Installed in separate folder Orbiter 2010 and the Patch and Orbiter sound. Installed JSGME and then installed Space Odysey, Stage 2 dll and Spacecraft 3.

Stage 2 dll did nothing.

Spacecraft 3 produced the Space station but no Orion external view in the second scenario. (I do get the instrument panel view). In the first scenario of the Orion on the runway, the external and internal view show just fine.
Also I get no mesh for the Aries, just black body outline.
Also, I tried to add another spacecraft via the Orbiter drop down windows and it would not show either in the second scenario, in the scenario with the space station.

Any ideas what to try next?

Everything else in this Orbiter install is working fine. All of the DG show.

Thanks for the help

update

So....

As an experiment, I installed Orbiter on a second computer, different OS, and different unzip utility. Perfect install. Everything works.

Exactly the same thing occurs in 2001 Space Odyssey.

In the second scenario of docking Orion at Station 5, the station is visible, the Orion panel is visible, the Orion spaceship is not visible.

I am coming to the observation that perhaps the scenarios for 2001, or this scenario in particular, do not have the ability to display more than one external view vessel. Hence the missing Orion spaceship?

1. Does anyone else have 2001 Space Odyssey up and running and in scenario 2, have both Space Station V and Orion external views?

2. Is there anyway to get another vessel into these scenarios? (Considering that I was not able to add another vessel via the Orbiter drop down menus).

Thanks.

Open the scenario editor (Ctrl-F4, it needs to be activated in the Modules tab) and then click New. However, if it's a Spacecraft3 vessel, it won't work and you have to modify the scenario file manually.

I do not remember exactly how - in spite of that i've made it many times ( but it's far away from now...) - but on the old version of Orbiter, by creating ( adding ) a cfg for a given spacecraft vessel, it was possible to select it in the scenario editor. With the 2010 version, i do not know.
