Hi everyone,

I just found Orbiter and I'm really excited at all the stuff to look at. (Shiny is my favorite color :)

Space X is a couple miles from my house and I went over there a couple days ago but they don't have tours...

I use Blender 2.58 for 3d modeling so I hope I can figure out the Ships, Cargoes, Stations, Bases and everything and add something worthwhile to the concern.

I live in Los Angeles with my teenaged son and I'm doing the pre-writing on a science fiction novel about the gritty realities of the first Lunar Mining Outpost. I hear China's looking to get one set up by 2020.

Whereabouts in LA? I used to live out there myself: Monrovia, Duarte, Pasadena areas.

And I also like Tolkien.:tiphat:

Good username choice, The Silmarillion was a fantastic read!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I live a couple miles from the beach in West L.A., couldn't stand the heat any further East!

Welcome to the forums ! Hail the Probe ! :hailprobe:

Greetings and welcome!

As much as I liked The Silmarillion, I must admit I liked the Book of Lost Tales 1 & 2 better (I read them first). After them I thought Silmarillion was too short (like a reader's digest or something...).
Later in The Lays of Beleriand the story of Beren and Tinuviel (The Lay of Leithian, but isn't she Luthien in Silamirillion?), anyway, I thought was so good I nearly memorized it.

Tinuviel! Tinuviel!
His voice such love and longing filled
one moment stood she, fear was stilled
one moment only, like a flame
he leaped towards her as she stayed
and caught and kissed that elvin maid...

I'm not sure, but I think I might be a nerd (but nerds tend to be better paid later in life).

Hey thanks everybody! Phantom, Perhaps less nerd than simply landlocked. Harder to see the Distant Shores from mid-continent. You'll have to make do with "up".

Peace
