Programming Question I want to update spacecraft 3, but how?

As some of you know spacecraft 3 is out of date and hasn't been updated since 2006. So I figure it's a good place to learn basic programming to help me learn how to create addons & expansions. I looked at the webpage spacecraft 3 is downloaded from and all seem made for a 2006 orbiter build. Spacecraft 3 from what I can tell gives some addons animation issues like solar panel deployment and other graphics animation problems for some addons when it's trying to work on orbiter 2010P1. So what software do I need to create programs such as spacecraft 3 & multistage 2 and how do I do it? (both need to be updated for orbiter build 100830 BTW)
