Hi gents, just starting out regarding using this sim, ....I"m looking for a descent launch pad for my version of orbiter (100830), have tried certain add-ons, but have problems where the shuttle does not align and sits way off (approx 500 meters away) in mid-air from the pad....and large white squares on the ground, an obvious conflict I think. Can one install add-ons for other versions of orbiter?

Hmmmmm... Sort of. Most things going from 2006 to 2010 work OK, I can't actually think of anything that doesn't. 2010 to 2006 is pretty often a :nono:

The half-a-mile-off symptom tends to be when you load an older scenario into 2010 - 2010 has a slightly different coordinate system than 2006 I think, which is why vessels appear in the wrong place on the ground.

Oh, by the way, :welcome:

EDIT: Found this for the white square thing. Might help: http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=19958&highlight=ksc+high+res

..........thanks for your response, what we all really need is a optional Orbit 2010 update, regarding a more detailed launch pad or them marvelous developers in the add-on section to update all the pads and local scenery to 100830 spec. ..hint,hint ........I"ve tried every possible install method and swopped and changed cfg"s for hours....:(...............

Martin is working on a better launch pad for future version of Orbiter last I read.

The LC39 is much more detailed in the latest beta. I replaced the mesh of my current O2010P1 install by the new one, and it works fine.

A pic taken a few months ago under O2010P1 :
