Intelsat 14 on Atlas V from Cape Canaveral

Well, I might have to watch. A drink and an Atlas launch is a nice way to spend a rainy Friday night.

A scrub have been declared due to a problem with the LV. No word yet on how long the scrub will be.

No new launch date yet, but the problem was with the ORCA, or ordnance remote control assembly which experienced a power dropout. The Atlas will be rolled back to the Vertical Integration Facility, or VIF.

It's got to be after sts-129. It takes several days for the Eastern Range to re-set between launches.

Correct, which means it will be toward the end of November.

ULA's website says that if the launch scrubbed on 11/14, it would shoot for 11/15 at the same time. Are they rolling the Atlas back or shooting for tonight? I wouldn't mind having a few cold bev's and watching an Atlas launch!

Spaceflightnow says it'll be a few days because of the reset of the Eastern Range for Atlantis.

We arn't going to have perfect weather like this for long. The wind here at the cape (at the surface on the ICW) has been very light. The temperature is right in between shorts and blue-jeans. (shorts and sweatshirt!). The temperature will stay the same until feb, but the wind is going to be picking up! Well, maybe the launch tomorrow afternoon will go off and there will be a point to all this!
Had to go to "Universe Today"to get word on the Atlas launch!

Odds of launch weather being favorable are less than 40%. Atlas still scheduled for tonight at 12:50 A.M.

The count is still underway with the single-engined Centaur about 1/3 full of fuel.

Weather is reported as "go" for launch at 12:50 EST, along with all the systems.

New launch time due to flight weather profile change:

1:15 EST

Yet another launch time for weather constraints:

1:35 A.M.

It's a communications satellite that will be placed at 45 degrees West, which leads me to believe that it will be placed in Geosynch. Also, the liftoff is now scheduled for 1:55 EST.

perfect timing i just finished setting up a energia to lift a dgiv to the iss to pickup a lunar lander at the iss then head out for the moon :)

The count has re-started

Stereo!

Liftoff of the Atlas V rocket carrying Intelsat 14 to Geosynch.!

Here are some stats on this mission:

The 601st launch for Atlas program since 1957
The 315th Atlas to occur from Cape Canaveral
The 19th launch of an Atlas 5 since 2002
The 17th Atlas 5 to occur from the Cape
The 11th Atlas 5 under United Launch Alliance
The 9th commercial launch for the Atlas 5 family
The 5th Atlas launch of 2009
The 2nd Atlas 5 to fly in the 431 configuration
The 31st Intelsat spacecraft to fly on Atlas since 1971
The 44th satellite built by Space Systems/Loral for Intelsat

That was smooth, a quick question.

On the data of the telemetry animation, did it have a "-" sign infront of the Perigee animation, or aer my eyes going?
