Hi guys,

i've just tried out the new ISSv1.0 release and i really like it!

There are some Shuttle Missions (Supply Runs) in it, based on Dave's Shuttle Fleet.

Now the question:

The ODS, which is used in the ISSv1.0 shuttle missions are more detailed than the original one and looking really great. I've already studied the .scn-files to figure out, how the new ODS could be implemented in all of my other Shuttle Fleet scenarios...but with no luck at all.

Maybe somebody of you guys knows the answer? I guess there must be a way....!

Thanks for helping out here!!!

The ODS which is used in the ISSv 1.0 shuttle missions haven´t any lines in scn´s because it is as part of shuttlebay module and can´t be used in your other missions...

Thanks

Ok. Does it mean that the shuttlebay-module is only working for the Shuttle Missions coming with the ISSv1.0 scenarios?

If so, it's really bad news! The ISS, ODS and EMU feature is really fantastic work!

And there is absolutely no way to modify my other Shuttle Fleet 4.1.5 scenarios to work with shuttlebay?

Sorry, but actually i am very far away from being a Developer, that's why I'm asking.

Thanks!

There is no way at this moment... how can you use Shuttlebay with your missions maybe in future Thorton will make version for custom use... Don´t know it depends to him...

You know, it would be nice if the documentation for this add-on warned the user that it is going to overwrite 3 of the texture files from the Shuttle Fleet add-on. Just proper courtesy...

Amen David !
Took me a while to fix that problem again.

Yoda: have you got problem with our new textures or what?

Dave: Sorry we forgot to notice about rewriting... we will fix it...
nobody is infallible. Sorry again

I have CTD when I try to start some of the ISS scenarios; attached is the logfile I had after attempting to run STS-106 scenario.
I have done a clean new Orbiter2006 install and followed the installation intructions in the ISS V1.0 doc for the add-ons required (strictly following the order indicated) last add-on added was the ISS V1.0 itself.

Any help?

Thanks!

Actually you can use shuttlebay module with other your missions, yuo could take it from sts88 and attach it to first shuttle att. point, but other your payload should attached to shuttle, not to shuttlebay.

Wolf
CTD with all scenarios? Did you use Vista?

Ok, Thorton

I'll try to modify one Scenario as you mentioned with the STS-88 Shuttlebay for testing purposes.

If I got another questions, I'll post them here!

Thanks Guys!!

I've tried to include Shuttlebay to my Shuttle Scenarios.

At first sight, it seems to be no problem to modify the default scenarios with Shuttlebay the way Thorton mentioned here before.

But in my special case, I've already modified my whole Shuttle Fleet Scenarios to STS-Payloads v2.0 -Style. That means, Pylon uses already the first attachment point (0:0) of the Shuttle....

So, it seems to be that there is actually no solution for my problem...! :(

It had taken me a couple of days to modify them to that point.

Now shuttle fleet has 7 att. points for payload, you could use any, just set it like this:
PLXXX_OFS 0.000 0.000 -1.000
PLXXX_DIR 0.000 1.000 0.000
PLXXX_ROT 0.000 0.000 1.000

XXX - its att. point number

YES!

Please remind me, never to say never again!

Finally, I've used the Attachment Point 0:2 and the other 3 .scn-lines with your Shuttle Bay and it works perfect!

Well, it'll take another couple of days to change the whole STS-Missions but it is definetly worth it!!

Thank you Guys, for helping out and another thank goes out to the Developers of all the great Orbiter Add-Ons!! :speakcool:

While the station modules are great looking, one problem I've discovered is that by commenting out the "ODS" line in the scenario files in order to place the shuttlebay and its ODS in place of the default ODS, you loose the centerline camera view and the shift in thrusters for docking. I'll have a patch (V4.1.6) posted tonight or tomorrow that will allow you to leave the "ODS" line out if you put "ISSV1" in place of "ODS" it will preserve the docking port centerline camera view and the thruster reassignments. Just need a few minutes to make the code changes...

CTD with all scenarios? Did you use Vista?

CTD on some STS scenarios included in the ISS scenarios folder. Some of them work but there's nothing in the shuttle bay and if I select ISS, APFR, or other ships they are not visible either (and in the object info window they're shown as "orbiting moon"...)

I'm running XP ServicePack2. Just tried to reinstall everything but same results (and same logfile when I have CTD's) :(

This is my install order:
1. ORBITER 2006
2. OrbiterSound3.5
3. Proton Laucnh vehicle
4. LC39-EAFB V.3
5. ShuttleFleet 4.0.1 + 4.1.1Patch
6. HI RES KSC
7. SOYUZ TMA
8. PROGRESS M
9. R7
10. UMMU v1.5
11. ISS v1.0

Do you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed on your PC?

That was the problem! installed 3.5 and now ISS scenarios working fine. Thank you so much Thorton! :-)

Thank you Thorton and Mariox. The addon has eyecandy of the sweetest kind.
I like the new launchsequence, great, great work.

I just thought I'd mention a few issues I had with the addon. I had CTDs just like Wolf. Mariox helped me out and as it turned out I had missed to install the Hi-Res KSC by Kukanotas. It is not mentioned as a required addon in the documentation, but it IS a re quired addon for LC39-EAFB V.3 aparently.
My bad, but just goes to show how tricky it is with addons that are depending on other addons (and their required addons).

Also I discoverd yesterday that the ISS module Zarya wich is the target for STS-88 does not have a transponder. Or any docking port frequensies. I know you are shooting for realism and I do not know what is realistic or not in this case. Perhaps there is no transponder in real life. But they do have radar to help with rendevouz don't they?
It is not impossible to find Zarya without the transponder, but it certainly makes the whole process a LOT harder I think.

Still an awesome addon! Thanks.

Sorry folks, no more entries this week, we have our winner in the "rudest-complaint-that-provides-insufficient-information-to-troubleshoot-and-help-fix-the-problem" contest. Kenny, you win.
