Hello folks; I've had this problem ever since getting the latest version of Orbiter; I'm finally asking about it.

The problem is this: the texture of Rwy 33/15 at KSC disappears when landing. Most of my flight is with Shuttle Fleet v4.8 recently; my TAEM and approach goes normally right up until landing. The runway appears normal until the nosewheel contacts the asphalt. Somewhere around the later half of the runway when the ship has slowed to around 80kts., the runway texture disappears and the underlying ground texture appears. The Rwy's borders are still visible though. Also, if I turn my head (pan the camera) to the side and slightly up, the runway reappears.

For the record I've downloaded alternate runway textures but once I began noticing the issue I reloaded the originals; same effect. It's not unique to Shuttle Fleet; buzzing or taxiing any personal-sized aerospacecraft down the runway causes the same effect so whatever's causing it, it's a mater of how close the eyepoint is to the runway.

It's not a big deal by any means; just a bit annoying. If anyone has a fix I'd be grateful. :)

Cheers!

Which runway texture did you use? (Give us a link to the addon).

If you take a look at the shuttle fleet add-on, David has a copy of Cape Canaveral, titled KSC.cfg. This is the file autoFCS needs to work properly, you basically have two copies of the same base, they may be at odds with one another? Dunno...

I honestly don't know; I can't remember which texture I chose. I'll cruise OHM for a bit to see if I can recall which texture I'm using. But FWIW I don't think it's an issue of texture (though I'm certainly willing to be corrected); rather I believe its a question of how the texture is presented within the Orbiter environment. In other words; is the texture set too low in relation to the ground texture? Nothing within Orbiter provides any difficulty except this one point - and I must stress this is a point of interest only; if it is solved my spaceflight will be improved slightly; if it is not it will not be damaged in any way.
