Lucky Orbiter Moments

I'm just starting to learn the deeper stuff but I'm already capable of successfully synching orbits and making a trip to the Moon in my sleep.

Just for the fun of it, I decided to give rotate-docking a go with the lunar station. To my surprise, it was easier than I thought. Constant juggling with the trans and rotate, I managed to pull it off on my first try.

I was messing around in the XR2 the other day, seeing how the Earth looked from various orbital heights. Got tired, decided I'd try a re-entry.
Set my perigee to 50km or so and shot back to Earth from a 15,000km orbit. Didn't think I'd actually be able to do a re-entry on the first go and so I decided I'd do some aerobraking to lower my orbit. Didn't consider the extra speed I'd be dealing with, and so shortly after upon entering the atmosphere the lovely XR computer started screaming at me about hull temperature. I realized I had...miscalculated and just blasted the main engines at 40 degrees AOA and rapidly extracated myself from the atmosphere mere seconds before my ship would have disintegrated into a thousand flaming chunks of metal.
