Finally got around making the switch to 2010 and loving it. Also enjoy the new & improved Map MFD except for the fact that it always defaults to the difficult to read ground-track mode. Is there any way I can get it to default to orbit plane instead? I'm tired of always having to change it.

thx

Hit the DSP button. There are tons of options of change, including groundtrack.

Yeah that is what I do now but every time I bounce around to another ship or load up a quicksave it defaults back to groundtrack. I was wondering if there is a way to default to orbit plane.

I don't think that there is a way to have the orbit plane as the default setting.
Instead of clicking, you can always press "Shift D M O". It's a lot faster. Left or right Shift, depending on which MFD you have opened the map.

There is always the option to use the legacy 2006 MapMFD.

From the Orbiter manual:
If required, the Map MFD mode can be reverted to the 2006 legacy version by adding the line “MFDMapVersion = 0” to the Orbiter.cfg configuration file in the main Orbiter folder.

For more information about MapMFD's functions and shortcut keys, read pages
76 -79 in the Orbiter manual.

I have no desire to go back to the old Map MFD. Aside from my one complaint it's one of the best improvements. Thanks for the keyboard shortcut that makes it a tad faster to switch over.
