Idea Mercury and Gemini add-on improvements

I'll send the new mesh in a bit. This time it will already be at the pad.
 
Does that include the Gantry carriage correction?

Oh...is the umbilical retraction possible?
 
Yes it does. Do you want the gantry to move all the way forward on the slides that a perpindicular to the pad? Anyway, would you like the umbilical to go backwards?
 
I'm not 100 % certain what the actual umbilical sequence should look like. Based on others I've seen, it should sort of "pop" loose from the booster, and the end that was connected to the rocket should retract toward the piping it's attached to. I'm not positive if the end that plugged into the booster is on some kind on cable and reel system to pull it out of the way, but they didn't generally just dangle off the tower after disconnecting.

I'm looking through videos I have as I'm typing, but I still havent found one that shows the sequence clearly...

No, that's not necessary. Whatever "offset" you used on that part of the sequence looks spot on.
 
I'll let it release and have it scale to the tower.
 
When will the update be? Will it be re-released or updated to the current release?
 
As of now I sent the new mesh that includes the gantry sequence to Saturn V. He should update as soon as he re packages everything.
 
I know I might be jumping ahead a bit, but for Gemini, will there be the white protective cap on top of the capsule for the launch?

The SHIFT was (0,0,100). It needs to be changed to (10,0,0).
 
If it's not there now, probably not. I have nothing to do with the sequencing at launch (which is configured in the dll). I'm just upgrading the pads.

MJR's animations for LC14 look very nice though. I believe he's trying to work out the umbilical retraction. Got an issue with texture loss to figure out too, but coming along.

MJR: check your email. The last meshes are unusable (you'll see the details in the email).
 
That's good to hear. I was just wondering since it wasn't there before. I also can't wait for the pad. Will there be mesh improvements to the spacecraft?
 
Could you put the bmps. here so I can see.
 
Some of them are fairly large and I don't want to be the cause of any bandwidth issues here. If you like, I can email them to you.

I'm going to try to get some work done on the Agena/ATDA version of LC14. Would you be interested in animating that when it's done? Essentially the same thing...gantry retraction, but I'm hoping you can figure out the umbilical disconnect because the Agena has a helluva lot more cable connections that the Mercury spacecraft!

Sorry that it keeps messing up. This time I'll use your original mesh and have it done at the end of the week. It is really stressful and frustrating what keeps happening.
 
I know the feeling well. I started the new tower for the Agena launches, worked on it all day Sunday and saved it...without renaming the file! I wiped out all my original work on LC14 in the process. Thankfully, I found a copy of the file in another folder, but I thought I was going to have a stroke for a minute there!

BTW: Any luck with the umbilical animation?

No luck. I am trying to use another program because I hate Anim8or. I can't even load >1MB files that are bmps.

Double check the BMP files. I think they have to be 24 bit or anim8or can't read them.
