Recently, I decided to to give interplanetary travel a go and started learning the concepts, methods and MFDs necessary. After several "supervised" (by those pieces of papers that had the instructions :P ) runs and equally numerous "let's see if I can do it alone" flights, I decided that I was ready for a flight that I can document via screenshots. Sorry for only linking them, but there are more than 10 of them.

And here they are, my (not entirely first) trip to Mars. Taking off from KSC runway and arriving to a nice, clean, 200km high orbit around the red planet.

All crew members are on board, except for the pilot, who's just approaching the air lock.

Pre-launch test of critical systems are finished, all show green.

Pre-launch check complete, ready for take-off.

Off we go.

Stable orbit around Earth.

Making a slight alignment burn for rendezvous with the ISS, all happening above the Great Lakes.

ISS aproach was successful, docked, refuelled and now undocking to align with the escape plane towards Mars.

Bruning to reach escape velocity.

On our way...

Making a small correction burn as we get clsoer to our destination.

Mars in clear sight in front of us, aproaching fast.

Setting up the ship for the burn to slow us down, so we enter orbit around Mars.

Minutes of burning...

...place us into orbit. After the burn is complete and made small adjustments, we turn around and enjoy the crew's first Martian sunrise.

none of the pictures work

It might have been because I left the album on private. Now it's public, they should work. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Very nice! What sun addon is that?

It's [ame=http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2613]Another Sun Texture v2[/ame]. There is an alternative texture in a different folder in the file. I use that one.

ah thanks mate!
