I have it working with Winamp now. Though, everything is very squeeky. Winamp says it's playing at ~ 94 kb/s, which is faster than what your server says it is streaming. Could this be causing that?

It won't be helping. I've had this problem using edcast with the shoutcast DNAS server. Trying to balance off this problem and fix it or tackle the compatibility issues with Icecast, which does stream in the right bitrates.

Right bitrates: perhaps. Audio: None.

The previous configuration was working just fine. Now i hear nothing.

I know this isn't a very helpful post. What kind of information do you need from me?

I never got the chance to test the old setup with Winamp, since it was updated before winamp testing and after my testing with VLC. So I'm not sure about compatibility with winamp before, at least on my end.

Ok, ok. That was an informative but complete fail. Shoutcast it is.

Still messed up bitrates, but closer to what I want... both seem to be spewing out close to the 128 / 100 mark now.

I have both up, sounding exactly the same, tested with WMP. This is looking ever more like an impractical solution for a radio station, huh? :P

I have it playing alright on my end now, at least no noticeable pitch problems. Occasional buffering lag, but I know my internet is crappy on my end.

EDIT: My buffering issues have seemed to pass. Probably since the bitrate is a little lower now. Sounding good.

Everything ok from my end too. (64kbps playing with VLC)

I thought I saw some VLC player users in the mix somewhere. Glad it's working, at least in part.

Streaming in various bitrates at a frequency all of our own, burning into the orbital sunset, chasing the sun... we are Radio Orbiter.

Do you take requests!?

I'd like to make the first one in Orbiter Radio, please.

I switched back to VLC now. This is pretty awesome. :)

Be my guest. Requests can go in here for now or email me them ([email protected])

Feel free to attach an MP3 if needed (I might not have what you're asking for, after all)

David Bowie -Space Oddity

I'd like to dedicate it to you Xyon, with the outmost respect, and to all our fellow Orbinauts!

And a special dedication to Tex. Our comrade who is leaving us (for now).

Awww. Y'make me feel all warm and cuddly inside. Or maybe that's the whiskey. Either way... it's up.

Nahh... the whiskey was "talking" when i made the request!

Thank you SO much! This is really cool!

Hearing my favorite song on Orbiter Radio just made my day. :) This is a very nice setup, good work Xyon.

Nice! Here my requests:

  • Rush - Countdown
  • Launch music from Apollo 13

Well, I had a good hunt, but I'm afraid I can't find the launch music from Apollo 13. Keep the requests coming though guys! xD

We need to ask the new administrators for an "Orbiter Internet Radio Founder" tag for Xyon and a "First Orbiter Internet Radio Requester" tag for me! :)
