New Release Shuttle Fleet V4.5 now released

David,

Thanks again for all your hard work on the Shuttle Fleet. Thanks also again for updating it for Orbiter 2010. I don't know what I would do without it, honestly, other than stay with 2006. I just don't have time right now to learn another shuttle addon, so I'm glad the fleet is still with us in the new version.

Many thanks,
n122vu

I also noticed huge, distorted payloads, but  it`s already corrected.

This is coming a little late, but honestly I'm surprised about how some people have acted about the Shuttle Fleet recently. First of all, David releases this wonderful addon AND keeps it well-updated for current missions; somebody complains that it won't be available for 2010. He releases it for 2010 AND adds UMMU; somebody complains that the Soyuz doesn't have UMMU. Not the best way to show thanks, is it? Of course, I recognize that the vast majority of users are totally grateful  . That rant had just sorta built up.

Anyway, thank you for this update! I've been spending most of my time in Ubuntu recently so I haven't tried out the new version yet, but I'm looking forward to it! Maybe I'll finally get around to getting good at TORVAs!

That`s the way people think. Always want something more. But maybe that`s the same as - always go exploring (the universe, for example), no matter how much do you know, there`s always need for more. :)

Thanks alot for this new release. Good to have shuttle fleet in 2010. My favorite addon, updated

It's an awesome piece of kit, Thanks very much Dave :)

Great Job David! Could a CTV-Pegase fit in the cargo bay btw? I though of a cost effective solution of adding a Pegase to a smerch tug in the cargo bay of a shuttle.

Before I download, I have a few more questions. Do I need to do anything to my Canaveral CFGs to get AutoFCS to work, as we did in Orbiter2006, or are the runways all set with the Canaveral CFG that comes with this download? Also, I don't want to overwrite my Canaveral CFG since I have Slats Pads in there, so what would I need from this CFG to get AutoFCS to work? Can I just copy/paste the runways? Thanks.

For me, I didn't have to do anything - I just unzipped it into my Orbiter folder and it worked perfectly. AutoFCS actually gets it's bases from the Earth.cfg file.

I'm just wondering if it will still work if I DON'T overwrite my Earth.cfg with the one from Shuttle Fleet.

It will, but it will require you to edit the Earth.cfg file yourself. Have you done something special already to the default Earth.cfg file? If not, then the changes I made are only for the benefit of the AutoFCS. If you don't want to use it, then just look at the provided file and make the changes yourself.

I have changed the atmosphere parameters in my Earth.cfg. I took a look and saw what you added, so I can make the mods myself. So I don't need to modify my Canaveral.cfg at all, right? Thanks again!!

The original beta was (is) working great for me, the previously mentioned bugs noted. The newer version had a UMMU error message in the lower left of the display, and was unable to get AutoFCS to engage (may have been an install error on my part).

Good to see the fleet being so rapidly integrated into 2010...thanks so much David. I know it's a lot of work.

Hmm. Te "Final Approach" scenarios seem to put me about ten miles off the coast of Florida, way too low to do the approach. Suggestions?

Great package BTW.

Thanks a bunch, this makes O2010 that much better. I recognize and appreciate the hard work and countless hours that you put into this, a long break is well deserved!

The error message means you most likely haven't installed the UMMU 2.0 distribution. If want to make the message go away, and take advantage of the UMMu capabilities, you need to add it:

I've had the same problem. Different installations of 2010, same scenario files, in one case I'm lined up with the centerline, in the other installation I'm off the coast. Sorry, it isn't on my list of bugs to solve right now, I've bigger issues that I'm working on.

Amazing addon! Thanks for all the hard work that you put into this. I'm not requesting any features or anything (A long break is well deserved after the release of such an awesome package) however I have one question: Are you planning on releasing the source code for Shuttle Fleet? I for one would be very interested to see it.

Cheers:cheers:!

No, the source will remain closed.

David, Will you be adding the surface tiles for Zaragosa in a future update. ?. I,m using them anyway from an earlier 2006 download. Great job anyway, thanks again.
