Spaceship Luna Outbound to the Moon!

I am using the spaceship Luna addon to fly a mission to the moon. (Being 57, I am big fan of 1950's SciFi.) The problem with my flight is that I will land on the moon during new moon phase. I should have planned my departure better. If I land on the side facing earth, I land in the dark. If I land on the day light side, facing away from earth, I can't contact earth to confirm the landing. Interesting situation! I have the flight saved with Luna about 1.5 days away from the moon.

Why not just wait two weeks to fly the mission, when the lunar phase is nearly full?
