Hi,
currently I'm working (I begun today, lol) on a new Mod, I want to convert Bridgecommanderships out of the Stargate Pack to Orbiter-conform Ships.
Today I successfully converted the .nif-Models to .msh-Meshes for Orbiter, and they are looking very fine, just without Textures and fitting cfg (I replaced the models of other Ships :D)
First, I opened the .nif Files in Blender, and then I exported them as .obj-Files, after that I used obj2msh, with the new Meshes I replaced some Ships, to see, if the Models showing up correctly, here is the Result: :

Deadalus:

Puddlejumper:

The textures are in the .tga Format, I still haven't figured out, how to make them work in Orbiter.

I think, for the Puddlejumper, I can put the two Meshes together, so the retracting Pods can be used like Gears.
Do you have any Hints or Tutorials for making .cfg Files and .dll's?

P.s.: I have the permission of the original Author of the Models and Textures to do this :).
P.p.s: With more knowledge I'm going to convert a Stargate (and the Supergate) to Orbiter and to make it working, for e.g. in combination with MSSS-MFD :P.

Easiest way i know (and it's still plain messy) is Vinka's Spacecraft.dll.
You setup a cfg for the craft and you can have animations.
You could have the engine nacelles sliding in and out.
Although that's gonna take some (coding) time.
Otherwise simple Orbiter cfg works but it's pretty limited in comparison.

But how much ISP are you gonna give these things?
The jumper alone seems to have a hell of a drive...
Let alone the Daedalus... can it land on earth?
Vertical desc/asc would be so cool...
They never talk about air compression and heat disposal anyway...
Let them be with the inertial dampers, i'd love to have them on my car

Hi @all,
sadly I hadn't much time the last days.
Atm I'm trying to make a .cfg-File, and I have two questions:
Mass is measured in kg, right?
And how is the Size meant?

@Erupter: The x-304 can land vertically.

Mass is measured in kg, right?
Yes.

And how is the Size meant?
The size parameter is used to indicate the average radius (or thereabouts; I typically use median) of your vessel (in meters). It has no actual bearing on the visible model; rather, it is used to calculate three things:

1: At what distance the visible model for your vessel is no longer shown, and it appears as just a spot
2: The size of that spot at a given distance
3: At what distance that spot dwindles to nothing and is no longer visible

Just fiddle with the value of Size until you have smooth-seeming transitions between all of these events.

Just want to say, project is still alive, I just hadn't that much time due to school ;).
@Hielor: Ok, thanks for the explanation :).

Sorry, I've got an HD-Crash and all work is lost :(.
And I'm really not in the mood, for beginning from new.
Anyone here who wants the models and Textures unprepared for use in Orbiter to finish it?
