Only 56? That sucks... RIP
Don't get me wrong, I believe every death is tragic. Around 150 000 people will die today, around 10% of them from some form of cancer. They will not "rest in peace", nor will they "pass on", the pattern that makes up their consciousness will be destroyed and they will cease to exist.
If we were to genuinely mourn every single one of them, the whole of humanity would be a permanent emotional wreck. For the moment, the most sane response to all the death around us is to work towards eventually preventing it. To quote Yudkowsky, "we have to work faster".
Jobs is not forgotten.

We need to stop wasting our research efforts or ridiculous vain things such as "cures" for baldness, "cures" for ageing and we need to redouble our efforts to bring an end to this horrible plague that in some way will eventually touch each and every one of us.

That's nice. Now that you've shared your belief, would anyone mind if I describe how I plan to dance around a planet-sized ball of cotton-candy as a golden statue of pure energy, after my demise?![]()
If you can understand spoken (and sung) Russian well, I recommend listening http://argonov.ru/2032.html Interesting thoughts related to what you told.
For anyone else interested, the links under "Презентационная экранизация" have English subtitles.
It's funny how you equate objective description with religious belief.
