Project Universal Car for Orbiter (UCO)

Alright, I got some screen grabs I want to drop to showcase some of Dan's excellent work.

First up is loading some cargo on a flatbed:

Next, the flatbed reaches the DGIV and cargo is transferred into the bay. The DGIV is now carrying 21 tons of cargo:

A few hours later, the crew arrives to preflight and the DGIV is rolled out on to the active and is fulled up for the trip to orbit:

After a long and fuel consuming climb to orbit, the cargo is swapped up to the Arrow and the DGIV is docked in the bay:

Beta testing is going well, if you want to see how it goes go here:

BREATHABLE PLANETS
----------------------

Some have requested breathable planet feature for UMmu 2.0: done.
If someone have a custom solar system and want to test he's welcome.

UMMU 2.0 and CARGO SDK 2.0
------------------------------

If a programmer want to test the new C++ SDK he's welcome also ;)

well I tested the UCGO SDK and its easy to use, I made a simple UCGO compatible vessel in less than 30 Minutes

"A little far" may be an understatement. :) UCGO is looks like it's shaping up nicely, can't wait! :)

Dan I would like to test the UMMU 2.0 and CARGO SDK 2.0 I'm developing also a surface base that will include it.

And i have an idea about the cargo i dont know if it will be difficult to program or not.

Imagine a chain of goods:

1 site where the uranium boxes (for example) are auto-generated from time to time when there are none.

1 site where you can drop the uranium box and then the box disappear.

[Creation area]----->[Dropping area]

Would be nice to them who wants the "economic" addon. If you can count the number of boxes dropped you know the money you earn :P

Thanks for anything you are doing

The Creation Area idea is cool, but (cargoes are considered Vessels in Orbiter, right?) for that you could make a vessel disguised as a mine that would spawn other vessel disguised as cargoes with a timer in the code.
For the Disappearing Area idea one could make the Uranium box, that after a key pressed, to change into something else that would be considerate of value (vodka?) or be destroyed like when you delete a vessel in scenario editor. Maybe the box would change into a box of "refined uranium" that could be 'eaten' by spacecraft has fuel.

I've never seen better API's then in Obiter programing.

:thumbup:I'm watching and reading and waiting :) Tomorrows Tuesday, :banana:Tomorrows Tuesday... it's not the THE Tuesday .... but it's one Tuesday closer:) !!:tiphat::tiphat::sweet:

All,

We are getting there. No bugs can hide from the Beta team. In all honesty, UCGO is awesome, and very few bugs have been serious. Dan's betas are better than most people's release candidates- the result of extensive hours of programming on Dan's part.

Amen.

The beta work has been really productive so far- we are already moving into a third beta. Dan has come up with something wonderful.

Agreed. This is truly an amazing addon that is already high quality even in the betas. Definitely raises the bar to a whole new level.

Yes. You're right.

I think you could make any vessel fit into a cargo. I think you could stick my LER or LIS chariot.
Can the large rover and other vehicles be stored in the Arrow's cargo slots, or is that a UCD job?

How is my hair cut ?

This is the ShuttlePB example code that will be provided with the UCGO SDK
for vessel, as for UMMU a complete pdf walkthrought with code ready to copy/past
in your project will be included.

I don't know if this is possible, but a dummy mesh with UMMU capability that can be attached to a SC3 vessel would be awesome.
