Velcro Rockets supports "generic" stages -- build a stage using an ordinary .CFG file.  The stage, extended by Velcro Rockets, supports CVEL payloads, or staging using an attach point.
Or, you can use it as a parallel-burning stage, as with my F1 Flyback.  You may attach this stage to almost any other, even though it was not designed for it.
Included is a selection of rockets, stages, and other goodies made using Velcro Rockets.  Of note:  a Zenit launcher, a Delta II, a Blue Scout payload for Project X-15, Travmind's NovaSSTO, and drop tanks for use on the Delta Glider, Shuttle-A, or most any aircraft.

Velcro Rockets:  stick stuff to stuff.

Pros: A brilliant addon
Cons: none
Review:
This add on should be considered "Infrastructure" for the Orbiter community. Sputnik, you rock!

Pros: Extremely versatile. Unlimited combinations. Fun!
Cons: Can appear a bit complex at first.

A brilliant add-on that has endless possibilities. this takes CVEL to a new high. After reading the manual, I was in no time cutting and pasting from the supplied scenarios, to create some amazing vehicles. I especially like the Parallel burn option and the drop tanks. This REALLY is a must have for Orbiter - Thank you Sputnik

This is a MUST HAVE for anyone serious about orbiter. Its ability to create stages on any vessel is useful for creating future spacecraft.

Does this require SDK?

can you make it so you can use an ummu to to assemble and place the boosters on a craft? I really don't want to exit and open scenerios over and over since my computer is so slow.

Thank you VERY much for updating that fantastic add-on !! :woohoo: :hailprobe:

Update for Orbiter 2010. Also fixed the blasted engines-fire-during-time-compression bug.

Really? No more living in fear of spontanious ignition during interplanetary trips?

Awesome! :tiphat:

Nice Sputnik, looking forward to some more assembly!

Looking forward to launching the CST-100 on the EELV's.

Finally. Congratulation with the release! And as time permits I will adapt cvel titans to velcro (titan 34+4 are left).

How does the THROTTLEBACK command work? I use THROTTLEBACK 3, but the thrust seems to be way to low and the vehicle crashes. Is the value in m/s² or G?

EDIT: OK, it's in m/s². I guess I need to replace the boosters to get it man-rated.

How does SCREENHEIGHT work? I'm trying to get to a higher PeA, but the autopilot pitches over too early. I tried to add screenheight, but it doesn't seem to work. Here is the scn:

Is there any way to keep the autopilot from cutting the engine when it thinks the orbit is circular enough? It does so even with the autopilot turned off.

It's a major PITA when you actually want an elliptic orbit on the first Upper Stage burn. Like the standard Atlas V GTO profile.

Do you have any other MFD active...like Launch MFD, LTMFD or Interplanetary. Or have you had them active sometime during the ascent? If they have been activated they might run in the background and perform the cut-off...That has been know to happen
What I'm saying is...Maybe it is not the Velcro Autopilot but some other AP function from another MFD

That was it.

I use Launch MFD for the initial pitch over/Roll maneuver it does so well, but I disengage it when it gets done so I can fly the 0 alpha phase and the rest by hand.

I guess it stays "engaged" enough to do the cutoff, if so is there any way to kill it completely after you use it? Because that roll/pitch maneuver is not possible for me to do by hand.

Wait, nope.

Just did the whole thing by hand without even using the launch compass and it automatically cut off.

If you kill the PID autopilot in Launch MFD, then that is it, it will do nothing to your ships RCS, it will still provide guidance, like a flight director.

Okay, then it is definitely the Velcro AP cutting my engine. Kind of a PITA when I am going for a non-circular orbit.

CVEL Titans has a scenario setting of AUTO LEO 0 to do exactly what you say. IIRC, the autopilots are very similar. You can try to add it and see if it works....
