Interesting how neglected Deimos is. :)
And Moon had 100% earlier! Who ruined it? XD

Two someones now. However, it and Mars are clearly the most popular destinations for Orbinauts.

I hazard that the principle reason is the multitude of tutorials to reach either destination. Any concurring or dissenting opinions?

everywhere except the minor moons of saturn uranus and neptune. i plan on doing a tour when i have time.

I've been most everwhere, the trick when you get to the far outer planets(Uranus, Neptune, Ort things and such), is to make a quick swing around the sun when travleing between them. For example, the trip from Neptune to Pluto can take a really long time. But when you fall toward the Sun for half of it and then use that velocity for the other half of it, it takes considerably less time.

I think most orbinauts were on mars and moon because it doesn't take so long.
And it also depends on how long you play orbiter. Some years ago I was also only on mars. But with the time you visit all plantes.

It's a shame as Venus with the latest textures has the most beautiful orbital sunsets.

And I like the sunrise over Mercury in World of 2001...

Made my first interplanetry voyage to Venus a while back. Tried to go to Mars, but CTD ended it short. I've also been to the moon many times.

to the moon and back, but failed re-entry. to mars and to jupiter, but no returns, just getting a hang of the TransX Mfd.

One fun trip was launching one XR2 to the mars, and while it is leaving earth I launched a XR5, with the challenge to arrive at mars at the same time, although lauching later. Really fun to pilot 2 ships. As long as one of them is in a stable orbit or long interplanetary trajectory the other can do landings or orbit insertions.

Expanded my repertoire.

First I made my first ever, completely on-my-own TransX flight to Jupiter using the DGIV. From there, I landed on Europa. Fairly simple.

Next up, I made a trip to Saturn, where I successfully landed on Titan. That was a weird experience. The atmosphere looks extremely thick so I expected some serious heat during entry. As it turned out, I was wrong as the heat never exceded the external temp by more than a few degrees (I would assume because of the already extremely low temperature (liquid methane and all that) plus the relatively low orbit speed to begin with). Then as I started my descent, it felt like I was sinking into some kind of goo. When keeping my craft leveled, the vertical velocity was at around 20 m/s. I had to disable the leveling AP and turn towards the ground to get some speed in order to save my crew from dying of boredom. Leveled off at around 1000meters and slowly touched down on the surface. That was weird but a rewarding experience. :)

i learned my way through IMFD in the last weeks and visited every planet and i had a fun and long flight from pluto to ceres with a "SMALL" detour to sedna ;)

I wish that I could change my votes. I've added Mercury, Venus, and both Martian moons to my tally since I started this topic.

Any thoughts on this?

As for outer planet exploration, I'm still debating the best method to do so. I think that UCGO will be released before I start, though.

Another reason could be the low DV, which allows common craft to reach both destinations from Earth with a fair bit of safety margin. And due to intercept geometry, more reserve fuel, etc, aerobraking is a bit less of a problem at Mars than at Venus (for ships that limit reentry temps). Plus Aerobraking is absolutely impossible at Mercury.

I only visited other planets with this:

[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=1004"]USS Enterprise - NCC1701[/ame]

and this:

[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=548"]Warp MFD 1.07[/ame]

It works like a charm :thumbup:!
