Project H-10-K Enterprises Gateway Station

Ah those things are nasty! We see them a lot at work, they move really fast.
Good luck everything!

A little help please.

#1: Of all the things that get animated on a given set of modules,

How should I keep track of the activation keys, is there a common set of keys for a common set of animations?

Shift <+a> for antenna deploy, Shift <-a> for retract
and so on...

#2: With regard to CBM berthing points, say on a node(node a), must each have a unique ID that differs from node b ?

#3: What's the maximum count of attach points, in a running instance? I have +-/449 attach points to identify and use.

There are several add-ons that use the [K] to deploy antenna, [O] for airlock and [G] (for gear of course). Those are pretty much defaults that come along with the Shuttle-A and stock DG.

This being your creation, do what you will. As long as it's well documented it's all good. That being said, be prepared for a long list of "I can't get so-and-so to work, what do I do!!!", because there are those that just won't read the manual no matter how well it's put together.

I'm still trying to put together a list of those things that will get animated.
i.e.

cupola shutters
airlock soft covers
CBM petals
CBM hatches
Airlock hatches
solar array sun tracking
antenna farm
exterior lighting and cameras
MBSS

and so on...

Some will have joystick/mouse control sets

Of course the tough ones will be getting the Canada arms III & IV, Dextr-R, and Robonaut 3
I'll be modeling them after existing add-ons

can anybody chime in on the unique ID question above? Been reading about the attach points, the SSBBs thread didn't have an answer, but maybe the author does.

Maybe take a look at ISS 3.2, or ISS A-Z? The documentation for ISS 3.2 lists at least 100 key combinations, depending on what task is being accomplished (moving the SSRMS or opening a thermal cover on Harmony)

Hi captn_hensley,do you plan on releasing this as a full addon in the future,or just the textures, and meshes?because this looks like it could turn out to be a cool space station for orbiter. Thanks

^Well the ground work for a mega awesome mesh and texture construct has been the focus for over 5 years, including building hyper details of the exterior, and interior. I wanted the visual impact to be huge, because I found a lot of want and desire with the current add-ons.

Please don't get me wrong, the current add-ons were a lot of work for the authors, and they have balanced performance with appearance. Much like the SSU project, I'm aiming for hyper realism in everything. If it takes 5 more years to get the thing up and running as a proper add-on, so be it!

I suspect I'll get a lot of help with the coding to get the performance up to speed, currently I just use .cfg files to get them on orbit, but I want to be able to build the station in the end, and have it be like building the ISS is currently. Lots of up flights, EVAs and Dockings, Berthings, and RMS activity. I'd like to think you could put GWS into orbit fully assembled, and construct deep space vehicles using the many tools GWS has to offer.

Again, at the current rate it may be a long way off yet.
