Currious if addon developers like Doug are already preparing to update thier succesfull addons such as the XR2 and XR5 to be UCGO compatible?

UMMU 1.5 PATCH UTILITY TEST

Please read carrefully:

1-Backup first your module directory
2-Unzip this utility in "Orbiter/Utils" directory

3-Launch the utility and follow instructions.

DELTAGLIDERIV IS NOT PATCHED BY THIS UTILITY BE CARREFFUL
TO NOT HAVE IT IN YOUR TEST SCENARIO.

I'm very intterested by test where you have scenario that CTD
at UMMU ingress. Usually having scenario with a lot of Ummu vessel
trigger this bug IE: 10-15 UMMUShuttlePB and many UMmu or other
UMmu vessel. Use the same scenario test before and test after and let
me know the result.

I'm also very intterested by Vista and windows 7 result, UAC may give
strange results even more if your orbiter is in "Program file" (the now doomed directory)
Try to patch under normal user account without right and see if it ask for admin
password and if the dll are really patched. (launch patch again, if the same dll
come it's not ok)

Hi Dan
I know this is for testers and developers , but I tried it and it patched 4 files(I think). It went very fast , but I did notice it patched an ISS file and some others. There's probably a record somewhere, butr I wouldn't know where to look :).

Dan,

Just tried out your UMMU utility and it worked fine on everything except the xr22ravenstar.dll and the xr5vanguard.dll - both of which became corrupt. It reduced both files from 35MB for the XR5 and 40MB for the XR2 to 5.70MB

When launching orbiter both DLLs gave a "not a valid windows image" error message.
 
Just tried the new version out and it's worked perfectly.

Prior to the ummu patch - any UMMU entering the XR-2 caused orbiter to freeze.

After the ummu patch - It all works perfectly.

It's probably worth noting that if people install an older ummu compatible addon they should run the ummu patch util to be on the safe side.

Writing the doc yet, the main entry point is a local html page located in Orbiter doc directory, the SDK page will give a clear a list of choices depend of what you want to do (cargo, cars, vessel) and open the right PDF file.

Dan, in that second screenshot, you have a scenario called 'Humain gallery' - it should probably be 'Gallery of UMmu humans'.

Last closed beta release today, it's almost complete, the main doc is done, the two C++ UMMU and UCGO doc are done and corrected, it miss only scenario text correction and the two PDF doc for cars and cargo creation (I think I can do them in two/four days)

The next beta will be public and will probably be the release candidate.

Now I understand that everyone is tired of this neverending release (me too), but I worked an overall of 6 month on it full time leaving my real work on the side. So if somes peoples can avoid to downrate this thread it would be nice, it's really frustrating for me to work so much and see that some are still not happy because free is not enough, they want it quickly also. Thanks (was the today's rant)

If all is well we'll have a finall release shortly :)

Great to hear. I have been waiting since i first heard about it, wanted it done but I could tell you wanted it to be finished. Never played with your dg4 much, but there is always a time to start:cheers:

Take as much time as you need Dan. A few weeks ago I was asking for a release not because I was trying to downrate the thread or anything. I think I can safely say that all of us just want to try your awesome addon. I am very grateful that you take your time and hard work and put it into this community. That really shows your character! I don't think I could of put as much effort into it as you did without getting paid or compensated somehow.

I just want to say this is one of the nicest and helpful communities I have ever seen. I see people all the time posting when they should really be in grammar school or proofreading their posts. Instead of slamming them on it, you guys have all tried your best to help even the people that obviously didn't read anything.

Also Dan, you should really setup some kind of donation system via Paypal or whatnot. I for one don't own FSX so it would be a waste of my resources to buy FSPassengers to help you. I would be more then happy to donate to you in anyway I can. It might not be as much as a FSPassengers sale(blame the economy :( ), but I would still like to show my support for your hard work.

Thanks for your kind word Tomatoes, sometime just a word is enough to give again the faith. I'm a rookie, I know that the lack of reaction doesn't mean that peoples doesn't like my work. But rushing for the final after 4 month of work, thousand hundred line of code, files, docs and seing the rate go down is somehow p..ing despit my long experience of internet (we are all virtual aren't we ? ;) ) Nothing too bad, I know what my work worth, I'll just rush a bit more so I can rela.. continue to... rush on other things ;)

About donation, well, given our situation (bad) I cannot say I would not like some (well deserved ;) ) buck but the last donate button I've set gave us... 20$ after one years :lol: and I'm affraid even some more would not help us an worth the deception. So I'll give up on this one.

Cargo PDF doc completed, submited for correction.
It miss only the cars PDF doc and one... (gee) refuel space station to show one feature of UCGO sdk. I'll see if I give up on this one. I think I've done enough yet.

Now I hope peoples will be happy, there is so much possibilities opened with cargo and transportation system.... Without real life constraint I would continue again and again to add more things even after the release. Town, factory, orbynomic, more ships

If one guy was doing it, it would be limited and time consuming ( 6 months ;) ) however with the SDK included, among other things, other people can create that for you and take weeks instead of months. - The good ones released on a Tuesday of course. :lol:
